I spent my working career serving my community as a public school teacher. After retirement, I loved learning new skills, and hair tinsel was one of them. It’s a joy to see others light up when they catch their hair sparkle.

Most tinsel lasts several weeks depending on your hair's health and how it's cared for. Wash, blow-dry, and style it just like normal hair.

We naturally shed anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs a day. Since the tinsel is tied to a single hair, it will eventually fall out when that hair sheds naturally. Fragile hair can affect how long tinsel stays in, and things like age, health, and some medications can affect your hair too.
You have a few easy options, and none of them harm your hair:
- Just wait, it will fall out naturally over time.
- Slide it out yourself: isolate the strand, hold it at the root, and slide the knot out.
- Snip the tinsel strand off.
- Book a quick removal appointment and I'll take it out for you.
